CalFresh Program: The CalFresh Program (formerly known as Food Stamps) helps low-income households increase their food-buying power to meet their household’s nutritional needs. CalFresh benefits issued through Electronic Benefit Transfer, also known as EBT card, can be used in grocery stores and participating Farmers Markets. Homeless, elderly or disabled persons may purchase prepared meals from participating restaurants with their EBT card.

PACE Education: A free Head Start and Early Head Start program serves low-income children (age: birth – 5 years) and their families. The program offers early childhood education and social services that help children get ready for success in school. Head Start also provides services to families and children who are homeless or in foster care, and to children with disabilities.
